Frankfort High wins opener

STANFORD — Senior tailback/defensive back Jalen Washingon scored four touchdowns in a variety of ways to lead the Frankfort High football team to a 34-14 win over host Lincoln County in the Death Valley Bowl Friday.

Washington's scores came on an 18-yard pass from quarterback DeShawn Newton, a 52-yard interceptin return and runs of 25 and 52 yards.

Washington rushed for some 14 yards. Senior fullback Jalen Acree added some 65 yards on the ground, including a 7-yard fourth quarter touchdown that put the game out of reach.

Frankfort has a bye week next week and plays its next game Sept. 5 at Shelby County.
