Lady Flyers fall 7-1
Franklin County’s girls soccer team lost to Madison Southern 7-1 Thursday night in Berea.
Dasia Kilbourne scored FCHS’ goal in the first half. Madison Southern led 3-1 at halftime.
The Lady Flyers play their next match Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against Lincoln County at Sower Soccer Complex.
FCHS, WHHS defeated in straight sets
Both Franklin County and Western Hills lost in straight sets Thursday. The Lady Flyers were defeated by Anderson County 25-17, 25-8, 25-19 and the Lady Wolverines fell to Bryan Station 25-22, 25-23, 25-16.
Games set for next week
The Kentucky Senior Games are set for Sept 2-7 in Frankfort.
There will be 21 sports for competitors 50 and over including golf, tennis, table tennis, pickleball, track and field, bowling, racquetball, badminton, volleyball, softball, swimming, cycling, shuffleboard, horseshoes, bocce and cornhole.

FCHS baseball scramble is Sept. 14
The Franklin County baseball team is hosting a scramble Sunday, Sept. 14 at Duckers Lake Golf Course.
The cost is $50 per person or $200 per team. The price includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, with a meal and awards to follow. All entries are due by Sept. 8.
Proceeds from this event will be used to update the facilities and equipment for the FCHS baseball team for the upcoming season.
Prizes will be given for first place, closest to the pin and long drive, and there will be a hole-in-one opportunity to win a free car.
Former University of Kentucky baseball coach Keith Madison will be the guest speaker at the awards ceremony.

3-D tourney Saturday
The Midway College archery team is hosting a 3-D archery tournament Sarturday at Cove Spring Archery Park. The entrance to the Archery Park is located just off US127-N on Peaks Mill Road (next to Peaks Mill School).
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and run through 5 p.m. Scoring will be ASA at known distances.
Shooting classes will include Adult Men and Women Hunter/Open, Young Adult Men and Women Hunter/Open, NASP Elementary/Middle/High School, Adult Recurve and Youth Recurve.
The entry fee is $10 for collegiate/youth divisions and $25 for adult divisions.
The tournament is a fundraiser for the Midway archery team and is being sponsored by Frankfort Parks, Recreation and Historic Sites and Frankfort Target Archery Association.
Door prizes will be awarded by Full Draw Archery of Lawrenceburg.
