Clements places 14th at St. Xavier Tiger Run

LOUISVILLE — Franklin County freshman Madeline Clements finished 14th and the Lady Flyer cross country team placed 12th in the girls varsity race at the St. Xavier Tiger Run Saturday in Louisville.

Clements ran the 5,000-meter course in 20 minutes, 49.42 seconds, and teammate Ashley Lawhorn was 24th in 21:26.11.

Also running for FCHS were Jamie Beason, 121st in 25:41.36; Taylor Bochantin, 129th in 26:00.93; Kater Riddle, 132nd in 26:08.24; Kirsten Pilcher, 133rd in 26:22.84; Sydney Oerther, 143rd in 26:50.66; Denise Robson, 150th in 27:03.28; and Lily Baker, 163rd in 28:26.04.

Running for Western Hills in the girls varsity race were Dove DeNigris, 36th in 22:04.99; Emma Boebinger, 128th in 25:59.41; Marissa Mitchell, 176th in 31:05.94; and Emilee Agee, 180th in 34:54.16.

WHHS had three runners in the boys 5,000-meter varsity race. They were Nathan Simpson, 139th in 19:34.34; Logan Mattox, 183rd in 21:06.60; and Michael Wilson, 196th in 21:52.96.

In the boys 5,000-meter B squad race, FCHS finished 12th. Running for the Flyers were Dylan Isaacs, 57th in 20:53.58; Kyle Kremer, 73rd in 21:45.05; Drew Willis, 81st in 22:04.95; Tommy Parsons, 122nd in 25:33.50; Grant Wyatt, 123rd in 25:38.29; and Jared Gibson, 131st in 32:49.36.

Franklin County’s next meet is Saturday at the Shelby County Invitational, and WHHS runs at Scott County Saturday.
