WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Jose Peroza hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning, and Nick Conti went 1 for 2 as the GCL Mets beat the GCL Astros 6-2 on Thursday.

The home run by Peroza scored Conti to give the GCL Mets a 3-0 lead.

After GCL Mets added two runs in the seventh, the GCL Astros cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Yimmi Cortabarria scored on a wild pitch and Jose Alvarez hit a sacrifice fly.

The GCL Mets tacked on another run in the ninth when Nic Gaddis hit a solo home run.

Brailin Gonzalez (1-0) got the win with three innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Kevin Holcomb (0-1) took the loss in the Gulf Coast League game.

With the win, GCL Mets improved to 3-1 against GCL Astros this season.
