With several amenities that it says are not offered at other hotels, Frankfort’s newest hotel, Home2 Suites by Hilton, prides itself on catering to extended-stay guests.
“Frankfort is a wonderful place to introduce this new brand of Hilton Hotel,” said General Manager Melanie Allen at the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce’s ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening Tuesday at the new establishment at 105 Allen Way, off of Versailles Road on Frankfort’s east side.
The hotel, which opened in early July and employs 22 people, provides guests with additional room space — in the form of studio and one-bedroom suites. The 88 units are divided into 71 king and 17 double queen rooms.
The difference between hotel rooms and Home2 Suites is in the details, Allen said.
“Home2 Suites are equipped with a full-size refrigerator, coffeemaker, microwave, dishwasher, utensils, dishware and the use of an induction burner in each room,” she said.
There is also room to stretch out with queen sleeper sofas, portable workstations complete with ergonomic chairs and Serta Suite Dreams beds.
All guests also receive free standard Wi-Fi in the lobby and suites and access to the outdoor firepit and grill area, indoor saltwater saline pool and a combined laundry/fitness area called Spin2 Cycle.
At Tuesday’s grand opening, a jazz trio serenaded guests as they mingled in the casual lobby area. Each morning a complimentary breakfast is served at the nearby Inspired Table, which offers more than 400 different breakfast combinations.
Rainmaker Holdings III, which owns Home2 Suites, began construction on the facility in May 2017.
“We focused on the environment,” Allen said of the build. “A lot of the materials we utilized were repurposed or recycled materials.”
Carmen Inman, president and CEO of the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce, said she was excited to welcome Home2 Suites to the capital city.
“It’s an added benefit to the community,” she said, adding it is ideal for business travelers and those who work with state government. “There is meeting space available and outdoor space available.”
