Running out of gas and a quick thinking gas station clerk could have potentially saved the lives of a local woman and her 10-year-old daughter early Thursday morning.

Frankfort police were dispatched to Speedway on U.S. 127 South at 2:44 a.m. after 32-year-old Rachel Montgomery reportedly came into the store saying she ran out of gas. The caller told a 911 operator that she had slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.
