Bridgeport Elementary School second-grader Sawyer Welch dressed as moonwalker Neil Armstrong for a wax museum project students presented Tuesday. Welch donned NASA headgear, a T-shirt with “One giant pizza for mankind” printed on it and an American flag to plant on the moon for his portrayal of the famous astronaut. The students were tasked with choosing a famous person to research and creating a poster with facts about their subject. Many also opted to dress as their characters. Welch is a student in Carter Beasley’s class.
