The Barbasol Championship on Thursday announced players with Kentucky ties who will be playing in the PGA event July 18-21 in Nicholasville at Keene Trace Golf Club.

They include Chip McDaniel, a former Kentucky golfer who earned his first professional victory last year at the Governor’s Open at Juniper Hill. He’s playing in the U.S. Open this week.

Cooper Musselman, from Louisville, played at UK and had two top 10 finishes ind three top 20.

Stephen Stallings Jr. attended St. Xavier in Louisville won the KHSAA individual state championship. After high school he attended UK, where he was named a team captain as well as an academic all-American.

Hunter Stewart, from Lexington, was the SEC Player of the Year at Vanderbilt and was a Walker Cup team member and first team all-American.
