Moyea Russell, of Hebron, leads the Kentucky Women’s Open by one stroke after Tuesday’s first round.

Russell shot an even-par 72 at the Frankfort Country Club to lead Mikhaela Denise Fortuna, of Auburn, Casey Miller, of Findlay, and Sarah Hinton, of Elizabethtown, by one shot.

Capital Classic champion Lizzie Loy, of Jamestown, shot 77 Tuesday.

The tournament’s final round is being played Wednesday. Tee times started at 8 a.m. and run through 11:10 a.m.
