While Frankfort's stores and government offices closed Thursday in observance of the Fourth of July, the capital city's residents celebrated the holiday with games, popsicles and more fun.

Locals gathered at Capitol View Park for the annual fireworks show hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4075 and Passport Radio. Before the show began Thursday night, families came to the park early to play baseball, get a free popsicle or two and spend time with friends.
