Frankfort firefighters and police officers responded Monday afternoon to a fire inside an apartment building on Sequoyah Trail.
Frankfort Fire Chief Wayne Briscoe said a call about smoke coming out of a window came in at 2:02 p.m. He also said a passerby heard the smoke alarm ringing, which helped firefighters respond quickly.
"This could have been a lot worse," Briscoe said.
The fire was contained to one apartment in the building, which is in the 300 block of Sequoyah Trail. No one was injured, but at least one person will be displaced, Briscoe said. He had spoken to the property owner but not the person who lives in the apartment as of 3 p.m. on Monday. Briscoe said the cause of the fire was believed to be electrical.
