If you have driven on Versailles Road recently, you may have noticed the framework of a new building under construction.
A reader asked The State Journal recently about the construction project next to Tractor Supply off of Versailles Road. The building is the future home of Frankfort’s Goodwill.
According to the Franklin County Property Valuation Administrator’s website, the store’s address will be 121 Arrowhead Court. The PVA’s website said Goodwill Industries of Kentucky bought the land in August 2018 for $925,000 from Anchor Frankfort Retail, LLC.
Goodwill Kentucky spokeswoman Lauren Deitering said the building is expected to open this fall and will replace the current Goodwill location at 316 Versailles Road, in a shopping center behind the eastside McDonald’s and adjacent to Frankfort Peddlers Mall. She said that the new building will be about 11,200 square feet. She said the project’s cost is $2.7 million.
Jill Wilson, a spokeswoman for Lexington-based Gray Construction, said that the building’s construction is being completed by Gray Ohio Valley, which is one of Gray Construction’s family companies. Wilson said construction started in March and is scheduled to be finished in the fall.
