Dear editor,

Thank you so much. After speaking with your staff, the very next day I received a call from the unemployment office. There was some misunderstanding on my part. However, I have not received everything I was supposed to. But they are now looking into it and I actually spoke with a person.

Had they simply called or answered the phone and just talked and explained things to us, this could have been understood on my part and fixed on their end. But they heard me. They are helping and explaining things now.

This could not have been done without your help. Thank you so much for helping me with this issue.

If anyone knows how I can reach the IRS to report my stimulus check was mailed to the wrong address, it would be helpful.

I appreciate all of y’all at The State Journal for helping me and my family — but more than anything for hearing me and for hearing my kids. For not just saying sorry and moving on.

People caring about people is the only way we will make it as a country. I love my country and everybody in it.

Thank you for your help,

Roberta Shepherd
