Two articles in The State Journal recently, (“DFI, KCDC pushing for ‘entertainment district,’” June 15-16) and (“KCDC backs district label,” June 19), which featured the plans for downtown to become an "entertainment district," should have added The Market.
The Market is a open-air market free to the public on St. Clair Street showcasing community businesses, local artists and craftsmen, nonprofits, foods, beverages and live music. This event sponsored by the Odd Fellow Capital Lodge will be held next Friday from 6-9 p.m.
The Market was rained out all most every month last year, so maybe this Friday will be rain-free. The lodge has to pay the city $250 to close the street each time.
Also in The State Journal, three out of four people interviewed said their favorite downtown event was The Market.
Hope to see you there.
