The Western Hills High School dance team partnered with team Compete for a Cause at the Frankling County Relay for Life event on Saturday at Kentucky State University’s Exum Center.

Compete for a Cause was started in early January by dance team member Maggie Richardson to raise awareness for colon cancer.

Compete for a Cause raised just under $1,000 leading up to the event. The dance team assisted with games, competed in a lip sync contest and taught participants the “wobble” dance.

The Western Hills High School dance team will host its annual kids dance camp from 8-11 a.m. July 15-17 at Bondurant Middle School. The cost is $60 per camper. Registration forms can be found on the WHHS dance team Facebook page.

Mail the form and payment to Attn: Kendra Heffley, 245 Twin Pines Lane, Frankfort, KY 40601. The form and payment may also be turned in on the first day of camp. The team will donate a percentage of all camp proceeds to The American Cancer Society supporting “Compete for a Cause.”
